Next to the cutting-edge design the adidas POD-S3.1 displays at first glance, there’s one important theme in the shoe’s DNA. That’s the concept of uniting forces to achieve greatness. It’s not only worked into the POD-S3.1’s design, which combines BOOST and EVA cushioning with a Torsion bridge. The adidas sneaker also embodies the attitude of young creatives that power of synergy – as we already showed you in our recent “Great Alone, Better Together” feature. And now we’re back with a new edition.
We travelled around Germany to kick it with some of the country’s most inspiring street football players. Similar to the POD-3.1, adidas’ “Club of 35” unites football personalities from all over the country that blur the lines between sports performance and fashion. All these guys come from different cities and they all have their own cultural backgrounds. But they all have two things in common. A passion for street football – and a love for their crew. Follow us on a journey into their lives and see how they get down with the adidas POD-S3.1.
Panajiotis Haritos – Berlin
Straight outta Berlin, Pana (@panafragma) plays for legendary club Hertha 03 Zehlendorf – just like German national player Pierre Littbarski or current Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovač did before him. The 22-year old striker’s favorite move is the step-over – and with his crew, he also likes to branch out in fields like fashion. On top of that, Pana also is the dummy for the upcoming Netflix series “Dogs of Berlin”.
Elohim Garbrah – Hamburg
Our next trip takes us all the way up to Hamburg, where Elohim (@ready_2killfvshion) plays as a striker for TuS Berne. Off the pitch, the 19-year old and his crew roam the city’s rap and party scene, where he proves his skills at open mic sessions. But whether it’s on the ball or the mic – there are some skills you can only learn on the streets and Elohim is living proof for that.
Joshua Mensa – Frankfurt am Main
21-year-old Joshua (@mensah.jr) lives in Frankfurt, where he also plays for local traditional club Rot-Weiß. But the striker is not only hunting for goals, he also has a strong passion for fashion and art. And on top of that, Joshua, who originally hails from Ghana, is also part of the Glitch Fam.
Sinan Saibou – Munich
Sinan (@sa1bou) reps the South, as he hails from Bavaria’s capital of Munich. He doesn’t only boast an impressive Instagram fanbase of 22.000 followers, but is also very well connected in the local dance and hip hop scene. And when he’s not flickin’ the ball in the streets with his crew, the 26-year old also gets busy as a Hip Hop dancer, fitness coach and moderator. Watch him lace up his kicks and step into Sinan’s world.
