adidas Originals is always searching for extra-ordinary partners for their highly appreciated collaborations. With Hender Scheme, they found a very special partner to team up with. Founded by Ryo Kashiwazaki in Tokyo, the Japanese label enjoys a reputation for perfect craftsmanship. Hender Scheme pays homage to famous sneaker silhouettes by recreating their own versions with high quality leather. Accordingly, everything in the adidas Originals by Hender Scheme project is handmade.
For the “adidas Originals by Hender Scheme” collection, three originals were chosen to be recreated with undid leather and replaceable soles. These styles are the NMD, Micro Pacer and Superstar silhouettes, all rendered in Hender Scheme’s characteristic pastel tone.
The look of the original shoes remains unchanged while features such as the Micro Pacer’s pedometer and the NMD’s Boost sole are removed. Hender Scheme created a whole new level of timeless luxury with these three models. All three are built to be worn – not collected – as the tanned leather will change its patina over time.
