From Pankow over Kreuzberg to Schöneberg, from Spandau to Marzahn and all the way out to Köpenick, Berlin is made up off several different district that each got their unique charm and make the city worth exploring. But since Germany’s capital is quite vast, both locals and visitors heavily rely on the city’s public transportation system: the BVG. As a tribute to the company that operates Berlin’s famous U-Bahn as well as busses, city trains and even ferrys, adidas dedicates a very special version of the EQT Support 93/17.
Key design elements on the shoe’s upper feature the recognizable patterns of the BVG seat covers. While the mesh upper is dressed in clean black and the white BOOST midsole unit provides a cushy walk, the Three Stripe eyelets hold a pair of round laces in striking BVG-yellow. But the most outstanding detail on this adidas EQT Support 93 Berlin can be spotted in the tongue section: limited to only 500 pairs, each of the shoes serves as a free yearly BVG ticket when worn on-feet. The tongue ticket is valid from January 16 to December 31, 2018 for all BVG vehicles. That’s both a great way to celebrate the company’s 90th anniversary – and also a pretty good deal to get on top of that unique pair of EQT sneakers.
