Keep it simple! adidas Consortium just invited Belgian footwear boutique Avenue to collaborate on a pack of two colorways of the EQT Support 93/16 Support.
Lina Fredriksson opened Avenue in 2007 in a neighborhood that always had an impact on style, especially after the emergence of the so called “Antwerp Six”, a group of fashion designers who had graduated from the city’s Royal Academy in 1980/81. Avenue is situated only a short distance away from an iconic institution, the Fashion Museum MOMU that showcases the influence of Antwerp when it comes to style and fashion.
For the recent collab with adidas Consortium, Fredriksson worked with designer Michael Hernandez of The Bruin Co. and High St. Gallery. They took inspiration from Fredriksson’s native Scandinavia and influenced it with the progressive design language from the “Antwerp Six”.
To create something simple but unique, they used selected aniline leather that’s often used to upholster luxury furniture, especially in Scandinavian design.
The adidas Consortium x Avenue EQT 93/16 Support is available in black and tan. Both colorways will be released at Avenue on May 27th – an international release at Consortium retailers will follow on June 3th.
