After leaving his store 4 years ago, solebox founder Hikmet Sugoer quickly got busy again with a new passion project. Initated in 2016, the Berlin native’s very own sneaker brand SONRA quickly made a name for itself. With a clear focus on high quality craftsmanship, the label releases limited “Made in Germany” sneakers that continue Hikmet’s love for premium products. And now the brand finally launches its very first collab with the 24 Kilates x SONRA Proto Saffron.
The shoe’s mediterrenian influences reference both 24 Kilates‘ home country of Spain and Hikmet’s Turkish roots. Even though the two countries lie at opposite ends of the Mediterranean Sea, they share a special appreciation towards Saffron. Long among the world’s most costly spices by weight, Saffron is not only a perfect fit for the Proto’s luxurious construction. It also inspires the vivid colors that grace the vegetable tanned leather upper.
A fucsia suede vamp immediatly catches the eye, while powerful tones of burgundy and orange run around the collar. The grey heel counter displays debossed SONRA lettering, as 3M details add more flashy accents. The white midsole is then combined with gum bottoms, putting finishing touches to the collaboration.
Available in a super-limited run of only 200 pairs, each shoe comes with a numbered leather hangtag. Feast your eyes on the pictures below and read on for the release info.
