For their next collaboration, Norse Projects and New Balance are going back to the classics: The “Lucem Hafnia” Capsule collection brings back two colorways of the 770 model in a luxe “Made in England” edition.

Originally introduced in 1986, the 770 model became a favorite among runners worldwide because of its supportive construction and responsive Fethalite midsole.

Premium materializations of the “Lucem Hafnia” capsule include full-grain leather and soft nubuck. The “N” logo is embossed on the lateral while Norse Projects co-branding is added on woven tongue labels and insoles.

The color scheme of this collab is architecturally inspired: The Rainy Olive colorway reflects the outside walls of the University of Copenhagen’s main building. Meanwhile, the wood-panelled interior of the University Library, inspired the Brown Navy version of the 770. Each pair ships with an additional pair of different-colored laces for extra color pop.

The capsule’s name – “Lucem Hafnia” was also inspired by campus architecture. The golden eagle on the main building is accompanied by the inscription: COELESTEM ADSPICIT LUCEM’, which is “The Eye of the Celestial Light”. Plus, “Hafnia” is the Latin name for the city of Copenhagen.

Norse Projects and New Balance had already joined forces in 2016 for a stylish version of the Rainier model.

The New Balance x Norse Projects “Lucem Hafnia” Capsule 770 model is available now online at Norse Projects and at select stockists in Rainy Olive and Brown Navy.
