The Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” Returns in March
With March usually being dominated by the Air Max Day celebrations, it seems like Nike and Jordan Brand are gearing up for a little in-house battle to see who can release the most heat during Spring 2018. The folks over at Jumpman now up the ante as official images of the wildly popular Air Jordan 12 Taxi Retro appear. The shoe was originally slated for a re-release sometime in late 2017, but the year came and went without a sign of any specific launch infos. Now the return of this classic colorway on MJ’s 12th signature sneakers adds to an already quite amazing 2018 line-up from Jordan Brand.
Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the model draws inspirations from a 19th century women’s dress shoes and the Japanese Rising Sun flag. White tumbled leather and textured black overlays are used on the upper, which is accented by golden eyelets, “SWOOSH” lettering across the tongue as well as Jordan branding on the tongue, heel and sole. The AJ12 is the first Jordan model to use Zoom Air cushioning and it features a unique sole unit: the outsole partly reveals the carbon fibre shank plate in black and yellow that gave this colorway its “Taxi” nickname.
