10 Years of Patta Amsterdam X Asics Collabs
With the latest exclusive SMU that will be released on June 9, Asics and Patta can celebrate a big anniversary. 10 years of collaborations between the popular Dutch retailer and the traditional Japanese footwear brand are pretty impressive! Some of the highest appreciated Asics collabs emerged from this partnership.
On occasion of tomorrow’s release of the Asics “Patta Exclusive” Gel-Lyte III, Patta has created a nice overview with all of their Asics collaboration. Let’s have a look at “10 Years of Patta Amsterdam X Asics“:
2007 – 2016
Patta x ASICS GEL-Lyte III (2007): One of Patta’s first collabs with a major footwear brand. Colorwise it’s inspired by Amsterdam’s Coat of Arms.
Patta x ASICS GEL Lyte Speed (2009): For the comeback of the Gel-Lyte Speed silhouette, Patta had the chance to create three different collab colorways in late 2009. They were released with matching backpacks instead of shoe boxes. Also every colorway came with a matching lightweight jacket.
Patta x ASICS GEL Saga (2011): Patta’s take on the GEL Saga silhouette was a clear homage to the first Asics x Patta collab from 2007. Black as main color was contrasted by red and green details – Amsterdam’s famous St. Andrews cross can be found on the tongue and laces.
Patta x ASICS GEL Respector (2016): The GEL Respector that was release in 2016 was inspired by the Japanese roots of Asics. The colors represent the colors of Japanese Anime movies, colorful characters and mythological creatures.
Asics “Patta Exclusive” – GEL-Lyte III: the latest outcome of the 10 year of partnership between Asics and Patta ia this clean SMU GEL-Lyte III. Patta says that they want every sneaker head to have a chance to get a pair, that’s why they didn’t do a highly limited collab!
